Coastal Classic, Catherine Hill Bay

Designed as a dream home for its owners, Coastal Classic balances a relaxed coastal aesthetic with the demands of a complex site. Set within a former coal mining area, the design responded to strict council, environmental, developer and heritage requirements, influencing the home’s form, colours and orientation. Four-metre ceilings and expansive skylights bring light and openness to the interiors, while the home is positioned to capture views across the national park and beach. The design also reflects how the owners live, with the garage, laundry and outdoor shower thoughtfully connected for easy beach days.
